Avril Lavigne’s Role in Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce’s Wedding Revealed

Pat McAfee saw the lights, the party, the ball gowns at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding.

And, as he revealed, he also saw some pretty epic musical performances—as well as some A-list run-ins—during the July 3 nuptials.

"Then, Paul McCartney played a song that he hasn't played since 1960-something for the first time ever,” he said during The Pat McAfee Show July 13. "Stevie Nicks played, Taylor was up there with them—obviously. Avril Lavigne.”

Two days later, the NFL alum realized he’d been the one to spill the beans on Lavigne’s performance.

"I guess yesterday me saying that Avril Lavine played ‘Sk8r Boi' was the first time that it came out,” he quipped on the July 15 episode of his show. "But she was awesome. To be clear, those musicians—really cool. One would just call out the other and then they would come up and then they would just do their s--t.”

In general, the evening brought forth an incandescent glow in McAfee—and he couldn’t make it any more obvious.

"The event itself was like the most spectacular grand thing I've ever seen in my entire life,” the 39-year-old raved on his show. "Taylor Swift's one of the what the greatest creators that the world's ever seen. Think about her brain going to her dream wedding and then Travis Kelce's energy in the middle of it."

The evening, according to the former Indianapolis Colts punter, was not just a perfect union between two people, but also of two sides of fame.

“The football world coming together with Hollywood, and Nashville,” he explained. "Brad Pitt brought me a Jack and Dime.”

And while also rubbing shoulders with Bradley Cooper and Gigi Hadid, McAfee said he partied alongside the Kansas City Chiefs on the dance floor.

As for any possible criticism of the MSG wedding, the ESPN host wants it all sidelined.

“It was the greatest night of all time,” he added. “That wedding was the perfect night. Just know that anything negative that has ever been thought about what that event was, as somebody who was not supposed to be there—everything was just like top of the line.”

But what hit different for the talk show host that night was seeing Swift and Kelce's love story unfold in front of his very eyes.

"They absolutely showcased that they are in love," McAfee shared, explaining how he always thought "Travis would be the perfect person for Taylor."

He added, "Travis Kelce is very much in love, seems very happy."
