More than 100 classic cars converged on Albufeira on Sunday, July 12, as the Algarve town hosted the final stage of the 33rd Algarve Classic Cars rally.
The concluding leg of the historic regularity competition began in Loulé before finishing on the Albufeira circuit, bringing together participants, organisers, sponsors and partner organisations for the event’s finale.
Spectators lined the route to watch a diverse collection of vintage and classic vehicles from different eras of motoring make their way across the Algarve.
The official closing lunch took place at the EPIC SANA Algarve Hotel.
Albufeira mayor Rui Cristina said events such as the Algarve Classic Cars help reinforce the municipality’s position as a year-round tourism destination capable of attracting visitors from a wide range of countries.
He added that initiatives of this kind showcase the diversity of Albufeira’s tourism offering, highlighting attractions including the Algarvensis UNESCO Global Geopark, the Art Reef Underwater by Vhils, the municipality’s gastronomy and its 24 Blue Flag beaches.
The mayor also praised the organisers for staging the event for more than three decades, recognising their contribution to promoting the Algarve.
The final stage of the Algarve Classic Cars formed part of the programme for Albufeira European City of Sport 2026.
