EXCLUSIVE: WME has signed Sarah Sherman — comedian, actress, writer and current SNL cast member — with an eye toward helping her expand her footprint across film, television, and beyond, as she continues developing her own original projects.
Sherman performs cult-favorite live stand-up shows under the moniker Sarah Squirm and has been with Saturday Night Live for five seasons, beginning in 2021.
Last December, she released her debut comedy special, Sarah Squirm: Live + In The Flesh. Cody Critcheloe directed and John Waters featured in the gonzo HBO hour, billed as a set full of “bodily fluids, open-wound confessionals, and jokes that will leave scars on your soul.” You can hear Sherman discuss the special, as a recent guest of our Comedy Means Business podcast, here.
As an actor, Sherman will next be seen in Mubi’s slasher Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma from writer-director Jane Schoenbrun, which world premiered in the Un Certain Regard section of this year’s Cannes Film Festival. She’s also appeared in Adam Sandler-produced films including Roommates and You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah!.
In 2021, Sherman was selected as a New Face at Just for Laughs Montreal and gained recognition through her cult-favorite live show Helltrap Nightmare. Additional credits include writing for The Eric Andre Show, opening for Eric André on tour, and working on projects including Three Busy Debras and Netflix’s Magic for Humans.
Sherman continues to be represented by Rise Management and Hansen, Jacobsen, Teller.
