ILOILO CITY, Philippines — A supposedly reformed drug personality was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Alalasan here on Wednesday and yielded some P714,000 worth of suspected meth.
The sting operation was jointly conducted by the City Drug Enforcement Unit of the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), Iloilo Maritime Police Station, ICPO Special Weapons and Tactics Team, Station Drug Enforcement Team of Iloilo City Police Station 8.

Some 105 grams of suspected shabu packaged in 11 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets were seized from alias “ET,” 44, of Lapuz district.

According to police investigations, alias “ET” has a long history of involvement in the local drug trade.
Records show he originally surrendered to authorities in 2016 under the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (Badac) program.

While he successfully completed the Community-Based Rehabilitation Program (CBRP) in 2017, intelligence reports indicate he eventually returned to the illegal drug trade, operating extensively within Lapuz and surrounding districts.
Prior to Wednesday’s arrest, the suspect had been under close surveillance and police intelligence monitoring for nearly three weeks.
