Taking place on the Santa Monica Beach in late September, the two-day Ocean Way will also feature sets from Sublime and Alvvays
A new music festival is heading to the Californian coast this September. Ocean Way Festival has announced its inaugural lineup, which will include headlining slots from the Killers and Olivia Dean. The Santa Monica-based festival takes place on Sept. 26 to Sept. 27.
The festival will take place on the sands of Santa Monica Beach, marking the first major music festival on the iconic coastline. Alongside the headliners, Jack White, Alvvays, Sublime, Khruangbin, Hiatus Kaiyote, and Durand Jones & The Indications also appear on the bill. The lineup is rounded out with dance/electronic adjacent acts like SG Lewis, Blond:ish, and a DJ set from Hot Chip. Check out the full lineup below.
Tickets for the new festival are on sale to the general public on Thursday, July 23 via their official website. An exclusive presale for Santa Monica residents occurs the previous day, on Wednesday, July 22. Music lovers can choose from two-day or single-day passes, both with premium and general admission options.
Ocean Way Festival is produced by Goldenvoice, the company behind Coachella and Stagecoach. The company was chosen by the City of Santa Monica to produce Ocean Way as part of the their Realignment Plan which is described as “a broad civic investment in public safety, business growth, and cultural vitality.”
“Santa Monica has an incredible music history, and Goldenvoice has been fortunate to be part of that story,” Goldenvoice’s VP of Regional Festivals Nic Adler said in a statement. “From legendary shows at the Civic Auditorium to the origins of Ocean Way Recording just steps from the beach, there’s a creative legacy here that’s unlike anywhere else. Ocean Way Festival is our opportunity to celebrate that history while building something that feels authentically Santa Monica for years to come.”

Ocean Way Festival will host a series of free events in the lead up to the festival including concerts, youth water-sports programming, student leadership activities, beach cleanups, and more.
