Over a year on from its release, KPop Demon Hunters‘ viewership stats on Netflix remain golden.
In the latest edition of the streamer’s What We Watched report released Wednesday examining viewership in film and television from January-June 2026, the animated juggernaut remained the fourth most-viewed film with 130.4 million views — coming in behind only War Machine, The Rip and fellow animated hit Swapped.
See the Top 10 chart below.
Last time around, in the report for July-December 2025, the film came in first place with 481.6M views. Interestingly, given that it premiered late in the window of January-June 2025 — on June 20, 2025, specifically — it ranked 31st most-viewed in film on that initial chart. The film notched 36.7M views in its first 10 days, snowballing in popularity over time given stellar reviews and strong word of mouth.
KPop Demon Hunters has now notched 648.7M views all told, and remains Netflix’s most popular film of all time.
Directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans and produced by Sony Pictures Animation, KPop Demon Hunters centers on a KPop trio who secretly lead double lives as supernatural demon hunters.
Demonstrating its staying power as one of the most culturally significant animated films in recent memory as it remains atop Netflix’s film chart, KPop Demon Hunters has of course already completed a successful run on the awards circuit. Most notably, the film won a pair of Oscars and Golden Globes earlier this year — for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song (“Golden,” by Ejae, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami). Additionally, it won all 10 categories in which it was nominated at the 53rd Annie Awards. Sequel plans were confirmed in August 2025.
After finding initial traction in feature animation through the licensing of popular titles from rival studios, Netflix seems to be turning a corner when it comes to originals. Their Skydance-produced animated adventure Swapped, starring Michael B. Jordan and Juno Temple, pulled in 131M views in its first half-year report. KPop Demon Hunters is also considered a Netflix Original, although the film was an acquisition from Sony Pictures Animation.
