
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday visited flood-affected communities across the state to assess the impact of recent heavy rainfall and ongoing government response efforts.
The inspection tour took the governor to affected locations alongside the Deputy Governor, Dr Obafemi Hamzat and senior government officials responsible for environmental management, drainage and infrastructure.
Among those who accompanied the governor were the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab; the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso; the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Olumide Oluyinka; Special Adviser to the Governor on Infrastructure, Olufemi Daramola; Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile; Permanent Secretary, Office of Drainage Services and Water Resources, Mahmood Adegbite; and the Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Noheem Adams.

The inspection aimed to evaluate the extent of flooding caused by rainfall, assess drainage infrastructure, and review measures being implemented to mitigate the impact on affected communities.
The visit forms part of the Lagos State Government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen flood control measures and improve the state’s drainage system as the rainy season continues.
