
MANILA, Philippines — Five senior Philippine National Police (PNP) officials were promoted to the next higher rank, according to a memorandum from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
The memorandum, dated July 16, noted that the appointment papers for the promotions had been signed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and transmitted to the DILG by Executive Secretary Ralph Recto.

The document said PNP Academy director Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan and Directorate for Comptrollership chief Brig. Gen. Dindo Reyes were promoted to the two-star rank of police major general.

The Directorate for Comptrollership is the office tasked to manage the PNP’s financial resources.
Meanwhile, according to the memorandum, the following were promoted to the one-star rank of police brigadier general:
PNP Forensic Group director Col. Pierre Paul Carpio
Police Regional Office Bicol Region deputy director for administration Col. Ronaldo Fulo
Police Regional Office Northern Mindanao deputy director for administration Col. Aaron Mandia
The memorandum was issued to PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. by Special Police Assistant to the Secretary of the Interior and Local Government Col. Christopher Olazo. /das
