
LUCENA CITY – A 33-year-old woman was shot dead by two motorcycle-riding assailants after visiting her jailed husband in General Trias City, Cavite, on Thursday, the Calabarzon regional police office said.
The victim, identified only by the alias “Nadia,” was found with fatal gunshot wounds to the head beside a creek along Bagong Silang Road in Barangay Santiago at around 4:30 p.m.
Nadia, a resident of a subdivision in the village, had just exited a jail facility in the area where she had visited her detained husband. Police did not disclose the reason for his detention.

On her way home, the victim was reportedly intercepted by two unidentified men on a motorcycle. The back rider allegedly shot her twice in the head, killing her instantly.
The suspects fled immediately after the attack.
Witnesses described the motorcycle driver as wearing a black T-shirt, while the gunman was wearing a white jacket and a white helmet.
Investigators are reviewing available closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage in the area to help identify the assailants.
Police are conducting a further investigation to establish the motive behind the killing. /coa
