CALASIAO, Pangasinan – As a precautionary measure and to ensure the safety of students, classes at Manaoag National High School (MNHS) were temporarily suspended on Friday after a Facebook post of a shooting threat against a school identified only by the initials MNHS.
While the post has not yet been verified and authorities have not confirmed which “MNHS” it referred to, the administration, led by Dr. Daisy S. Mayola, said it acted because it did not take the threat lightly.
The threat says: “Killings will take place at MNHS. We are targeting pupils of Grades 7 to 12. We shall start shooting students at 2:30. We do not care if we are apprehended.”

The school immediately coordinated with the appropriate authorities to ensure the safety and security of everyone on campus.
Manaoag Mayor Jeremy Agerico Rosario instructed the town police led by Major Arnel Tamayo to promptly deploy its personnel to conduct a security assessment and strengthen their presence at the school.
Personnel from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Manaoag also responded.
Strict security protocols remain in place, while police track the source of the threatening post. Creating and spreading online threats of this nature carries criminal liability, the Manaoag police said./coa
