
A fire broke out yesterday evening at Skyparks 2 in Luqa, prompting a large emergency response from the Civil Protection Department and other emergency services.
The blaze occurred at the building, which is currently under construction, with Civil Protection Department firefighters responding alongside the Malta International Airport Fire Section.
As a precaution, nearby buildings were evacuated while firefighters worked to bring the fire under control.
The Civil Protection Department confirmed that the fire had been contained, with ventilation operations continuing to clear the building.
No injuries were reported.
Firefighters from CPD Fire Stations 1, 3, 4 and 5 remained on site together with members of the Emergency Department at Mater Dei Hospital, the Malta Police Force and Transport Malta.
