A thick blanket of morning fog led to a slower-than-usual arrival for a Gozo Channel ferry entering Ċirkewwa earlier today.
A reader who contacted Lovin Malta sent in videos showing the ferry carefully making its way into the harbour, saying it had to reduce speed due to the poor visibility.
“Gozo Channel has had to slow down from entering the port of Ċirkewwa due to the morning fog,” the reader told the newsroom.
The footage captures the vessel navigating through the dense fog as visibility around the port remained significantly reduced, with the man even stating that they were stationary at one point.
While the conditions affected the ferry’s approach, slowing down in low visibility is a standard safety measure to ensure the safe navigation of vessels entering and leaving port.
