
MANILA, Philippines — A man was fatally shot in front of an elementary school in Teresa town, Rizal, the police said.
The man, identified as a 30-year-old construction worker residing in the same town, had allegedly walked past the suspect, identified as 58-year-old security guard, while the latter was aboard his motorcycle parked in front of the school on Thursday afternoon, according to a police report.
It noted that the suspect “averred, ‘Son of….Finally got you. I was looking for you for a long time,’ then shot the victim.”

“Thereafter, the gunman immediately fled on board his motorcycle toward an unknown direction while the victim was rushed to the nearest hospital for medical treatment,” the police report added.
In a statement on Friday, the Teresa Municipal Police Station confirmed that the victim was brought to a nearby hospital for medical treatment but was declared dead on arrival.
“Police investigators continue to pursue all available leads through witness interviews, CCTV backtracking, and dragnet operations to facilitate the immediate arrest of the suspect and ensure that justice is served,” the town police explained.
“The Teresa Municipal Police Station appeals to anyone with information that may assist in the apprehension of the suspect to immediately coordinate with the Teresa Municipal Police Station or the nearest police station,” it added. /mr
