Man nabbed for abducting, robbing woman outside Angeles City school

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga — Authorities have arrested a man accused of abducting and robbing a woman who was waiting to pick up a nephew inside her vehicle that was parked outside a public school in Angeles City.

In a statement on Friday, the Angeles City Police Office identified the suspect only as a 42-year-old man who was arrested following a hot pursuit operation.

Police said the incident occurred at around 2 p.m. on July 14, when the victim arrived in her sport utility vehicle outside Angeles Elementary School in Barangay Pulung Bulu to fetch her nephew, a student of the school.

The suspect allegedly forced open the driver’s side door and climbed in. “The suspect restrained the victim by covering her face with duct tape and binding her hands before seizing her personal belongings,” the police said.

The suspect then allegedly took control of the vehicle and drove toward Tarlac province.

Upon reaching Gerona, Tarlac, he reportedly stopped the vehicle and ordered the victim to get out.

The victim sought help from nearby residents, who alerted the authorities, the Angeles City Police Office said.

Col. Joselito Villarosa Jr.,  Angeles City Police Office director, said the police tracked the hijacked vehicle and gave chase.
