
ECHAGUE, Isabela-A 66-year-old barangay councilor was shot dead by motorcycle-riding gunmen at his farm in Barangay Malibago here at 8 in the morning on Friday, police said.
Lito Publico, 66, who used to serve as the barangay captain, sustained five bullet wounds, one of which pierced his head, according to Police Colonel Manuel Bringas, Isabela police director. The type of gun used is still being verified.

Police have yet to determine the reason for the attack but are hunting down the killers. “The follow-up investigation is still ongoing,” Bringas said./coa
