
Police have detained 31 people who were found to be living in Gozo irregularly following a series of inspections carried out across the island.
The operation involved officers from various police units together with detention officials as part of ongoing inspections targeting irregular immigration.
According to police, those detained are nationals of African, Asian and European countries. They are currently being held at a detention centre while arrangements are made for their return to their country of origin or another country where they are legally permitted to reside.
