Mario Roggero, a 72-year-old
Piedmontese jeweler sentenced to 14 years and nine months in
jail for killing two fleeing robbers outside his shop near Cuneo
in 2021, on Friday said he deserved a presidential pardon saying
President Sergio Mattarella should "look to his conscience"
after he pardoned former Berlusconi bunga bunga pimp Nicole
Minetti and a migrant trafficker who had killed 30 people.
Speaking before entering Bollate Pirson near Milan, Roggero
implied he deserved a pardon more than Minetti, who was pardoned
for pimping and embezzlement in February so she could look after
a sick Uruguayan adopted boy, and the unnamed trafficker.
"President Mattarella pardoned a trafficker who killed 30
people, he pardoned Minetti, I think he should look to his
conscience," said the jeweler, who right-wing parties say acted
in legitimate self-defence and deserves to be pardoned.
