Nara Smith Details "One of the Hardest Parts" of Daughter Whimsy's Cancer Journey
Nara Smith’s family has a lot to celebrate.
Less than one month after she and Lucky Blue Smith shared that their 2-year-old daughter Whimsy Lou had been diagnosed with an unnamed form of cancer in late 2025, the influencer confirmed she’s in remission.
“Lucky and I have been going through this and processing it for the last eight months, and we were debating on even sharing such a private part of our life,” Nara said in a video shared to Instagram July 17. “We wanted to wait until she is done with treatment, and us knowing what the outcome of her situation would be before sharing it, and even finding the words to share it.”
The 24-year-old—who shares four kids with Lucky—continued, “Now that she's finally in remission, it felt like I could find the words to share.”
As for why she and her husband—also parents to Rumble Honey, 5, Slim Easy, 4, and Fawnie Gold, 10 months, as well as his daughter Gravity Blue with ex Stormi Bree—did decide to share Whimsy’s news in the first place was having experienced first-hand the realities families face while navigating childhood cancer.
“Going through chemo treatments opened my eyes to how expensive medical care is, and what a toll it takes on families specifically,” Nara added. So, I've been researching charities and foundations to support. But in the meantime, want to post some links that could help families.”
And indeed, the TikToker created a page on GoFundMe linking to the pages created by families with children undergoing cancer treatment.

While paying it forward, Nara also shared some insight into how she and her family are moving forward—by putting one foot in front of the other.
“Lucky and I have been trying to return to everyday life and taking it day by day,” she explained. “I don't know whether life will ever feel normal again, but we're trying to navigate this next chapter the best that we can.”
In the meantime, the outpouring of support has made all the difference.
“Thank you so so much for all your kind messages, prayers, support,” she said. “It truly has meant so so much to us.”
And to those who are navigating similar circumstances, she added, “Sending all my love to families that are actively still coming through this fight.”

Shortly after sharing Whimsy’s diagnosis on July 2, Nara shared a look at the journey they’ve undergone over the last eight months, which included having to shave their daughter’s hair when she began losing it due to treatment.
“Watching Whimsy lose hers has been one of the hardest parts of this journey,” Nara wrote on social media July 8. “It wasn’t just hair. It was the little curls I tucked behind her ears, the wispy strands that caught the sunlight, and all the ordinary moments I never imagined I’d miss.”
But even then, her candor was for a reason.
“If sharing these pieces of our story helps even one family feel less alone, or encourages one person to learn more about childhood cancer,” she wrote, “then this vulnerable part of our lives is worth opening.”
And thankfully, as she noted alongside a white heart, “her curls are returning.”
