The Edo State Security Squad has arrested 12 suspected cultists during raids on criminal hideouts in Uzebu Quarters of Benin, Oredo Local Government Area.
ESSS Publicity Secretary, Mr George Aburime, disclosed this while briefing journalists in Benin on Saturday, after the Friday operation.
Aburime said the suspects were arrested at Asoro Hill, Uzebu Quarters, along Ekenwan Road, identified as a hub for drug trafficking and cult activities.
He said the suspects had been handed over to the police for further investigation and would face prosecution if found culpable.
He stated that Governor Monday Okpebholo’s administration will not tolerate criminality or any breach of law and order in Edo.

He said the intervention aimed to restore peace, urging the factions to embrace dialogue and avoid actions capable of disrupting public order.
