
The U.S. military widened its attacks across Iran this week as President Trump looks to squeeze the Islamic Republic, sparking new threats from the regime after the strikes targeted its bridges and energy infrastructure.
The intensified fighting comes as the memorandum of understanding is in shambles and as two countries wrestle over the closure of Strait of Hormuz, a key oil shipping waterway, where traffic has plummeted the last two weeks.
Following the death of Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), Rep. Ralph Norman announced Saturday that he would jump into the race to replace the late senator.
Meanwhile, Trump has faced criticism over his recent primetime speech, when he revamped 2020 election fraud claims and accused China of interfering in the election that he lost to former President Biden. Michigan Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed will also rally with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) to boost support for his bid to replace retiring Sen. Gary Peters (D-Mich.) on Saturday evening. The Democratic primary is set for Aug. 4. El-Sayed is facing Rep. Haley Stevens (D-Mich.).
