State Highway 1 and State Highway 58 have both reopened after separate crashes blocked the Wellington roads Friday afternoon.
State Highway 58 near Porirua reopened after a single vehicle crash between Pāuatahanui and Paremata at the James Cook intersection at about 1.30pm.
Ongoing delays in the area were expected.
A second crash on Wellington's urban motorway stretch of State Highway 1 had also been cleared.
Police said the southbound lanes of State Highway 1 were closed by the incident, which happened near the Aotea Quay off-ramp south of the Ngauranga interchange at about 2.10pm.
The crash was cleared at about 3pm and southbound traffic congestion was easing.
One person suffered minor injuries, police said.
