Ice-T, Coco Share How They Discuss Fame With 10-Year-Old Daughter Chanel
Ice-T and Coco Austin are spilling the tea about raising their daughter in the spotlight.
The Ice Loves Coco alums detailed how they create conversations with their daughter Chanel Marrow, 10, about staying grounded as a child of celebrities.
"I've always said that I just want to raise a sweet child," Coco said on the June 3 episode of the Beyond the Bar podcast. "I want her to be intelligent and all that stuff, but I want her to have manners. I want her to be a really good human being around other people and respect other people because she represents us, too."
"I respect everybody that's in front of me and I give people time and I want her to do the same thing," she continued. "I don't want her to be a bratty kid sitting there, rolling her eyes or whatever."
The TV personality noted that she has conversations with her daughter "all the time," recalling how she tells Chanel, "The reason why I want you to have a good attitude is people see you a certain way, babe."
"I don't know if it gets through her head why," Coco added, to which Ice chimed in, noting that Chanel does understand.
Yet, Coco—who welcomed Chanel with Ice in 2015—pointed out that she doesn't think her daughter "knows the whole world watches her" or fully grasps that she's known since she has parents in the public eye.
"For a little human being, she does not think she's famous," she explained. "She doesn't think she's a celebrity. I don't even like to say those words too much, but she's known and she doesn't believe she's known."
"She just wants to act like a regular kid," Coco added. "So I'm like, ‘OK, you can act like a regular kid, but always be nice, have manners.'"
As for Ice, (born Tracy Marrow), he's instilled in Chanel to "never prejudge anybody," to "meet people" and "give everybody a chance."

And according to Law & Order: SVU star, Chanel has also inherited positive attributes from her mother. After all, Ice—who married Coco in 2002—said his daughter has "picked up Coco's energy."
"She's really sweet," the dad of three shared. "The other day she asked Coco for something to eat and Coco said, 'Yeah.' And I said, 'You're spoiled.' And she goes, 'But I'm not a brat, Daddy, am I?' I'm like, 'No, you're not a brat. And we spoil you."
And as Chanel—who recently completed the fourth grade—continues to grow up as time passes by, Coco is feeling emotional.
"To all the moms who blinked and suddenly their little baby is graduating another grade—I'm right there with you," she wrote in a June 4 Instagram post, sharing Chanel's graduation photo. "We should do a massive moms group gathing we're we all come together and cry it out. We could have coffee or Tea or maybe even some Tequila could work..lol. Who's in."
