EXCLUSIVE: Stella Pecollo, best known for her work in Universal’s You, Me, & Tuscany, has signed with Prototype Talent Agency for representation.
Pecollo portrays the hilarious and fiercely passionate Francesca, sister to Michael (Rege-Jean Page) and Matteo (Lorenzo de Moor), and confidant to Anna (Halle Bailey) in the film, directed by Kat Coiro and written by Ryan Engle. Francesca was initially written as a depressed wife being cheated on by her husband, but the role was re-imagined and expanded for Pecollo. Francesca became a fun-loving woman having a secret affair with Luigi the plumber and Anna’s closest ally.
Additional credits include a lead role in Fox’s series Extravergine, as well as Abel Ferrera’s Siberia opposite Willem Dafoe, Oliver Hirshbiegel’s Unwanted, Eagle Pictures’ Dedalus – for which she earned a David Di Donatello Award nomination – and Gennaro Cassini’s Mister Green.
Pecollo was invited by Arnoldo Mondadori Editore, Italy’s leading publishing house, to write her memoir, Io sono Bella (I Am Beautiful), which is now being adapted into both a one-woman show and a television series. The deeply moving yet funny memoir chronicles her emotional journey toward self-acceptance as a plus-size woman, amid the constant body shaming and bullying she experienced while growing up in Italy.
Pecollo is also the founder of the body inclusive clothing line, Stella Pecollo Fashion Revolution.
She continues to be represented by 42 and Volver Actor.
