
LAPU-LAPU CITY, Cebu — A total of 105,820 learners from Kindergarten to Senior High School in public schools in Lapu-Lapu City will receive school supply kits from the city government.
Mayor Cindi King-Chan announced that each student will receive a customized school bag bearing the city’s seal, along with writing pads and notebooks appropriate for their grade level.
According to King-Chan, the initiative aims to ensure that young Oponganons are prepared and equipped to begin the school year and inspire them to pursue learning.

“Ang 2026 School Supply Kits Program usa ka dakong educational support initiative nga nagpakita sa atong lig-on nga commitment sa paghatag og equal opportunities sa matag bata aron makat-on ug makab-ot ang ilang mga pangandoy,” King-Chan said.

She said education remains one of the city’s most important investments for the future.
Through this initiative, parents will be able to save on expenses for their children’s school needs.

The city government will also distribute protective hard hats to 33,055 Kindergarten to Grade 3 pupils as part of its Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Program. The hard hats will be used during drills, preparedness activities, and emergencies to help protect students and promote safety awareness.
Currently, King-Chan said the city government is still finalizing the total number of enrollees and class sections before distributing the school supply kits to every classroom.
The school supply kits have already been delivered to various schools across the city, she added.
