
Ariana Grande has earned her 10th single to hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 as “Hate That I Made You Love Me” bows atop the chart.
The song marks her eighth debut at No. 1 on the singles chart and ties her with Taylor Swift for the most among women. Grande produced and wrote the track with Ilya and Max Martin, who now extends his record for the most No. 1s among producers with 28. Martin also has the second-most No. 1s among writers with 30, just behind Paul McCartney’s 32.
“Hate That I Made You Love Me” previews her upcoming eighth album, “Petal,” which is releasing on July 31. The song is the latest No. 1 addition in her discography alongside prior chart-toppers “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait For Your Love),” “Yes, And?,” “Die For You” with the Weekend, “Save Your Tears” with the Weeknd, “Positions,” “Rain on Me” with Lady Gaga, “Stuck With U” with Justin Bieber, “7 Rings,” and “Thank U, Next.”
Overall, Grande ties Janet Jackson, Bruno Mars and Stevie Wonder for the 10th-most Hot 100 No. 1s. Ahead of them are Whitney Houston (11), the Supremes (12), Madonna (12), Michael Jackson (13), Taylor Swift (14), Rihanna (14), Drake (14), Mariah Carey (19) and the Beatles (20).
Elsewhere on the chart, Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” slots at No. 2, followed by Drake’s “Janice STFU,” Langley’s “Be Her” and Bruno Mars’ “I Just Might.” Rounding out spots 6 through 10 are Olivia Dean’s “Man I Need” and “So Easy (To Fall in Love),” Drake’s “Shabang,” Langley and Morgan Wallen’s “I Can’t Love You Anymore” and Tame Impala and Jennie’s “Dracula.”
