Andy Cohen Crashes CNN to Surprise Anderson Cooper on 59th Birthday

Andy Cohen is no longer pleading the fifth when it comes to his romance with Kevin Sobieski.

After recently going public with his boyfriend, the Watch What Happens Live host got candid for the first time about finding love with the NYC-based businessman, who has met kids Ben, 7, and Lucy, 4.

"People have asked me for a long time, 'When are you going to get a boyfriend? Why don't you have a boyfriend?'" Cohen reflected during the June 8 episode of his SiriusXM radio show Andy Cohen Live. "And I have always said, 'I will know when I meet the person.'"

"It's always been a feeling for me," the 58-year-old added, "and I am really happy to say that I met the person you guys."

Of course, Cohen noted he was "slow and deliberate and methodical" when it came to introducing Ben and Lucy to Sobieski. But today, he's proud to say, "He loves my children and they love him and I love him."

While Cohen only recently introduced fans to Sobieski after the couple was caught holding hands in NYC on June 2, the Bravo personality revealed they actually met a year ago at a friend's Fourth of July party in a meet-cute moment meant for the movies.

"It was 11 months ago and I saw him from across the party," Cohen recounted. "I almost didn't go and I dragged myself out. I never get invited to gay parties in the Hamptons anymore. I was like, 'You know what? Let me just go.'"

After arriving, Cohen recalled immediately thinking to himself, "'I got to talk to this guy. Who is this guy?'"

"We talked all night," he shared. "I very methodically put my number in his phone and he was like, 'Wow, the way you...' and apparently I said to him twice that night, 'I want to make sure this number is right.' And then he said, 'I knew you were serious when you were really serious about this number.'"

Calling Sobieski "kind and strong and smart," Cohen also revealed their first public date was a Metallica concert in the Hamptons.

As for what makes them work, he confessed they haven't had one fight so far because he and Sobieski "just view life the same way."

Cohen also thanked fans for respecting his privacy and they navigated their blossoming relationship.

"I really am happy," he concluded. "I can't believe I found this guy. I'm in shock."
