MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday said it has leads on the location of the remaining two individuals at large who are wanted by the Sandiganbayan over an allegedly anomalous P53.9-million flood control project in Bulacan.
In a statement, PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. identified them as Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) officials Ernesto Galang and Lorenzo Pagtalunan.
“Our intelligence units and the CIDG (Criminal Investigation and Detection Group) have already established significant leads regarding the possible whereabouts and the network assisting these fugitives,” Nartatez said.

“The PNP will not let up until all individuals involved in this flood control scam are fully accounted for. The arrest of their cohorts is proof of our relentless pursuit, and it is only a matter of time before these last two fugitives face the law,” he added.
On Friday, the Sandiganbayan ordered the arrest of Galang, Pagtalunan and their nine co-accused, including government contractor couple Pacifico “Curlee” and Sarah Discaya.
Pacifico Discaya and DPWH officials Merg Jaron Laus, Norberto Santos and Floralyn Simbulan were taken into government custody in Bulacan on Monday.
Meanwhile, authorities served the warrants to Sarah Discaya and Saint Timothy Construction Corporation officer Ma. Roma Rimando who are detained at the Lapu-Lapu City Jail; as well as Brice Hernandez, Jaypee Mendoza and Juanito Mendoza who are likewise detained at the New Quezon City Jail over other flood control scandal cases. /gsg
