
MANILA, Philippines – The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has extended tax filing and payment deadlines until the end of June for taxpayers affected by the magnitude 7.8 earthquake in Mindanao.
Under Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 062-2026, deadlines for the filing of tax returns, payment of taxes, and submission of required documents falling from June 8 to June 29 have been moved to June 30. This covers both online and manual filings.

The relief measure applies to taxpayers in General Santos City, Sarangani, and South Cotabato. Taxpayers who comply within the extended deadline will not be subject to penalties, surcharges, or interest.

“This Circular is being issued in order to provide assistance to taxpayers who were affected by the recent earthquake within the jurisdiction of South Central Mindanao Region, which caused substantial damage to business establishments, government offices, and vital infrastructure, thereby disrupting normal business operations and limiting access to accounting records,” the BIR said.
As of this writing, the earthquake that struck off Sarangani on Monday morning has left 37 people dead, while 479 others were reported injured.

At least 127 facilities across the region were damaged, with initial losses estimated at P15 million.
