The Bank of Portugal maintained its forecast for Portuguese economic growth at 1.8% in 2026, according to the estimates included in the June Economic Bulletin, released on Monday.
This forecast is more pessimistic than the Government’s, which estimates growth of 2% this year.
For the following years, projections point to growth of 1.6% in 2027 and 1.8% in 2028, while inflation “is expected to rise to 3.1% in 2026 and return to levels close to 2% in the following years” (on the basis of no further unexpected events that can alter global economies).
