MANILA, Philippines — The Office of the President has allocated a total of P278 million from its Socio-Civic Projects Fund for provinces and local government units affected by the magnitude 7.8 earthquake in southern Mindanao.
During his visit to Sarangani on Monday, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. announced the financial assistance package aimed at helping local governments address the immediate needs of displaced families and accelerate recovery and rehabilitation efforts, particularly in damaged schools.
“For the children affected in schools and in their homes, that is our priority. We have already sent supplies, medicines, and medical teams. Things are now in place. The real issue now is the facilities,” the president added.
