Pokhara University Opens Scholarships for 1,381 Undergraduate Students

Kathmandu. Pokhara University has announced scholarships for 1,381 undergraduate students for the academic session 2083, covering more than 25 academic programs under its faculties of Science and Technology, Management, and Humanities and Social Sciences.

According to the university, over 400 scholarship seats have been allocated to Information Technology (IT) and other technical programs. The scholarship quota includes 107 seats for Computer Engineering, 29 for Software Engineering, 53 for BE in Information Technology (BE-IT), and 65 seats for the Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) program.

The university has also allocated 9 scholarship seats for the Bachelor in AI and Data Science program and 94 seats for the Bachelor of Computer System and Information Technology (BCSIT).

Of the total scholarship quota, 777 seats have been reserved for programs under the Faculty of Management. Similarly, 474 seats have been allocated to Science and Technology programs in Engineering and Architecture, 84 seats to Science and Technology programs including BCA, AI and Data Science, and BSc Environment, and 46 seats to Humanities and Social Sciences programs such as BALLB and Bachelor of Development Studies (BDevS).

Pokhara University stated that 60 percent of the scholarship recipients will be selected through open competition, while the remaining 40 percent will be filled under reserved categories. The university has also made provision for mandatory representation of female students in both open and reserved categories.

Eligible students can apply online through the university's official portal. Applications must be submitted by midnight on June 28 along with a fee of Rs 1,600, payable through eSewa, Khalti, or Connect IPS.

The scholarship entrance examinations are scheduled to be held on July 4 and 5 at Pokhara University's Academic Building premises.
