The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has unveiled two additional candidates for the upcoming Nasarawa North Senatorial by-election scheduled for June 20, 2026.
According to INEC, Alaku Mohammed Steve Ahmed of the Action Democratic Congress (ADC) and Duba Ishaya Dodo of the New Democratic Congress (NDC) will now participate in the contest.
Nasarawa State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mohammed Abubakar Sadiq, had earlier announced the list of political parties and candidates cleared for the by-election that includes Halilu Danladi Envulanza of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Labaran Maku of the Labour Party (LP), John Paul Araneshri of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and Emmanuel David Ombugadu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)
With the addition of ADC and NDC, six candidates from six political parties are now set to contest for the Nasarawa North Senatorial seat.
The by-election was called to fill the vacant seat created by the death of Godiya Akwashiki who represented in the Senate representing Nasarawa North.
