Legendary British band Duran Duran will return to Portugal this autumn for a concert at Lisbon’s MEO Arena.
The performance is scheduled for Tuesday, November 3 and marks the group’s latest appearance in the country more than four decades after its Portuguese debut.
The group first performed in Portugal in 1982 with concerts in Lisbon and Porto before returning for a headline show in 2005. More recently, they appeared at the Delta Tejo Festival in 2008 and at Rock in Rio Lisboa in 2022.
In a statement, promoter Sodade described the show as a reunion between Portuguese audiences and “one of the most influential, innovative and enduring acts in contemporary music”.
Led by Simon Le Bon, Duran Duran emerged from Birmingham in 1978 and became one of the defining bands of the New Wave era, enjoying global success throughout the 1980s and beyond.
Over the course of their career, the band has produced a string of internationally recognised hits, including Girls on Film, Rio, Hungry Like the Wolf, Ordinary World, Come Undone and The Wild Boys.
Their most recent album, Danse Macabre, was released in October 2023 and features original material alongside reworked versions of older songs and covers of tracks by artists including Billie Eilish, Talking Heads and The Specials.
Tickets for the Lisbon concert go on sale at 9am on Thursday, with prices starting at €70. Fans can sign up on the band’s website to get ticket alerts and reminders.
