Lagoa Municipality is bringing back its popular Caminhadas ao Luar (Moonlight Walks) this summer, inviting residents and visitors to explore some of the Algarve’s most scenic locations under the stars.
The free programme features six evening walks and runs, taking place every Wednesday at 8.30pm throughout July and August. Participants can choose between 5km and 10km routes designed to encourage physical activity while showcasing the region’s landscapes and landmarks.
The schedule is as follows:
July 8: Lagoa – Carlos do Carmo Auditorium
July 15: Carvoeiro – Praia de Carvoeiro Square (Largo)
July 22: Parchal – Bela Vista Municipal Stadium
July 29: Estômbar – Exhibition and Fair Park
August 5: Ferragudo – Infante Santo Riverside Area
August 12: Porches – Senhora da Rocha Church Square (Largo da Igreja)
Organisers say the initiative aims to promote healthy lifestyles while encouraging social interaction and community engagement.
Each event will feature music from DJ Likotta, with participants encouraged to enjoy the atmosphere and Algarve sunsets after completing their route.
Registration is free and can be completed online via the municipality’s website, at parish offices, municipal services or on the day of each walk.
Participants are advised to wear comfortable, visible clothing and bring a torch or headlamp, along with a reusable water bottle. Every participant will receive a commemorative Caminhadas ao Luar 2026 T-shirt.
