
President Trump, in France at the G7 Summit, looked ahead to the next stage of talks with Iran, but urged Israel to tone down its attacks on Lebanon.
“We have our deal done with Iran and it should be successful. It goes to a second stage which I think will be actually easier,” Trump said Tuesday.
In some of his most pointed comments on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump added, “I have had a great relationship with Bibi. Now Bibi has to be more responsible with respect to Lebanon.”
European leaders are keen to discuss the Ukraine war, and President Volodymyr Zelensky is in attendance Tuesday in Évian-les-Bains.
In Washington, the Trump administration’s peace deal with Iran is getting a chilly response from the president’s allies on Capitol Hill.
A series of states, including Oklahoma and Alabama, as well as the District of Columbia, are hosting primary elections and runoffs Tuesday. All eyes are on Georgia, however, where Sen. Jon Ossoff (D) and Democratic gubernatorial nominee Keisha Lance Bottoms, a former Atlanta mayor, will learn their Republican opponents in the toss-up races. Here are the races to watch.
