President Trump on Wednesday cautioned that the preliminary deal with Iran isn’t yet final, and the U.S. could “resume strikes” if needed.
“No, it’s not final. It’s a memorandum of understanding, and if I don’t like it, we’ll go back to shooting at them, dropping bombs on their head,” Trump said, speaking next to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi at the G7 Summit in Évian-les Baines, France.
Trump is expected to hold a press conference, then travel to Versailles for dinner with French President Emmanuel Macron before departing for home.
The Federal Reserve is expected to keep interest rates steady this afternoon. Wednesday’s announcement marks new chair Kevin Warsh’s first leading the central bank.
