The government is soon integrating AI into the Hello Sarkar platform to make services more efficient. The plan is to operate the public grievances platform on phone, app, telephone, and social media, making it a multi-channel operating platform to address public concerns on a daily basis.
The government’s 100 list of tasks included some key reforms for Hello Sarkar. One of them was to operate the platform 24 hours a day, which has also come into fruition. Now, work is ongoing for further enhancements, particularly with the use of AI.
The electronic platform was first launched by Baburam Bhattarai during his tenure as the Prime Minister in 2011. In the following years, it has gone through various plans, ups and downs. The current government has attempted to bring timely enhancements to it.
Currently, 3,769 government and public bodies are affiliated with the Hello Government electronic complaint management system. 26 employees are deployed 24 hours a day in three shifts to operate the system. The Prime Minister’s Office has adopted a strategy to develop Hello Government as a policy facilitation, resource management, and monitoring body rather than a direct complaint resolution body.
✅Nepal Police App lets you file complain online
Krishna Prasad Sapkota, Deputy Secretary of the Hello Government Branch, says that once the new system is implemented, complaints received over the telephone will be automatically converted into words with the help of AI and will reach the concerned body.
Besides, the monitoring of the grievances and their progress will be more effective and straightforward. Also, it will drastically improve the entire system, its grievance collection and addressing them.
As per the platform, 116,070 complaints have been registered in the system, out of which 56.44 percent (65,469) have been resolved by concerned government bodies. Since the formation of the current government, 7,150 complaints have been fully resolved, while over 19,000 are in the process.
The website highlights that the public can reach Hello Sarkar via online, Facebook, X, Phone, SMS, WhatsApp, and Viber. Not all platforms may be active for contact, though.
