Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia plans to officially launch its first integrated digital Social Protection System (Perlinsos) across 541 districts nationwide in October or November 2026, as a move aimed at streamlining aid distribution and eliminating administrative bottlenecks.
"In October or November, President (Prabowo Subianto) will launch it nationally in 541 districts. We hope that 80 to 90 percent of it will be in place," National Economic Council (DEN) Chairman Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan announced here on Wednesday.
Luhut, who also serves as the President's Special Advisor for Digitalization and Government Technology, added that the platform is expected to become comprehensively operational by the end of the year, providing the administration with highly accurate, real-time demographic data.
The system is built on an updated Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) foundation, which integrates key citizen identification documents—such as the National ID Card (KTP) and Family Cards (KK)—into a single, unified platform.
Pilot projects are already underway across 42 designated regencies and cities. The government has set a strict deadline for residents in these trial zones to complete their system registration by the end of July, a phase expected to register roughly 35 million citizens.
To assess the system's ground-level readiness, President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to personally inspect pilot sites early next month.
"We have already agreed on the schedule. We will propose to the President to (directly monitor on) July 6, 7, 8 or 9," Luhut noted, adding that potential inspection sites include Surabaya, Banyuwangi, and Bali.
The digitization of the social protection system is expected to eliminate administrative and population data errors, thereby improving the accuracy of aid distribution and ensuring that social assistance reaches the targeted communities seamlessly.
