
MANILA, Philippines — House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” G. Dy III on Wednesday sent his best wishes to Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian after his election as Senate president.
Dy also expressed confidence that Congress will continue advancing measures that promote economic growth, strengthen public services, and improve the lives of Filipinos.
“The House of Representatives extends its congratulations to Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian on his formal election as Senate President,” said Speaker Dy.

The speaker noted that Gatchalian assumes leadership of the Senate at a critical time, as Congress continues to fulfill its constitutional mandate and address matters of national importance.
“This development comes at an important juncture as both chambers of Congress continue to carry out their constitutional responsibilities and act on issues that directly affect the lives of Filipinos,” he said.
Dy reaffirmed the House’s commitment to maintaining close coordination with the Senate in advancing priority legislation and pursuing reforms that respond to the needs of the public.
“The House remains committed to working closely with the Senate in advancing priority measures, strengthening the economy, and delivering meaningful reforms that benefit our people,” the Speaker said.

He emphasized that cooperation between the two chambers has been instrumental in passing key legislative measures aimed at expanding economic opportunities, improving access to education and healthcare, and strengthening social protection programs.
“What is important is that Congress remains focused on measures that will benefit our fellow Filipinos. When the two chambers work together, we can deliver the reforms our people need more swiftly and effectively,” Dy said.

The Speaker also expressed optimism that the longstanding partnership between the House of Representatives and the Senate would continue under Gatchalian’s leadership.
