Brazilian Felipe Linares de Oliveira Dell Aquilla, arrested on Monday (15) in the United States by ICE, the country’s immigration enforcement agency, had already been convicted in Brazil for drug trafficking, fraud and extortion. However, the cases against him do not mention PCC or CV, unlike information provided by U.S. authorities.
PCC and CV are two of Brazil’s largest criminal organizations. Both were classified as terrorist organizations last month by the U.S. government.
The information about the alleged connection comes from a statement by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, which calls him a "commander" of both groups. According to ICE, he was trying to flee to Mexico when he was stopped during a traffic inspection in Mooresville, North Carolina, while allegedly keeping his wife held inside the car.
Known as Don and Felipe Boy, the suspect was the subject of an Interpol warrant requested by Brazil. The report was unable to locate his defense.
