“Around 600 families received around 190 gallons of potable water from the Army’s Mobile Water Purification Station in Sitio Linao, Barangay Tinoto Maasim, Sarangani. Soldiers and responders also helped distribute relief goods donated by civilian volunteers to displaced families in Barangay Butulan, Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental,” PA spokesperson Col. Louie Dema-ala said in a statement.
He added that Army responders, in close coordination with the Philippine Air Force, airlifted and distributed food packs, rice, bottled water, and other essential relief supplies to affected residents in Barangays Molmol, Quiapo, San Isidro, and Sitio Makina of Barangay Kalbay in Jose Abad Santos, as well as Barangay E. Alegado in Glan, Sarangani.
“From June 11 to 15, the airlift operations facilitated the delivery of approximately 4,925 food packs, 800 five-kilogram rice packs, 3,400 bottles of water, 400 boxes of relief goods, 100 containers of 20-liter potable water, and 40 cases of six-liter bottled water to affected communities,” Dema-ala said.
He added that Army troopers facilitated the transport of about 400 boxes of relief goods from General Santos City to affected communities, assisted in the loading and unloading of relief supplies at key distribution points, and supported the handling of Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office assistance delivered through the General Santos City International Airport.
