
Miss Philippines Earth delegate Alyssa Villariña appeared surprised when her name was called as the gold medal winner of the evening gown competition. But many avid pageant followers already expected it.
The representative of Mandaluyong City bested 31 other aspirants for the top prize at the competition held at New Coast Hotel Manila on Wednesday evening, June 17, wearing a fully beaded column gown by designer Jomarie Ner Cielo.
Villariña is a familiar face to those who have been religiously following pageants as she had already previously seen action in both the national and international arenas. That is why her gold medal finish came as no surprise to many.

The Bicolana lass from Mandaluyong City was a semifinalist in the 61st edition of the Binibining Pilipinas pageant held last year, where she delivered an impeccable performance, especially in the question-and-answer round.

After her first national pageant, Villariña flew to Singapore to represent the Philippines in the 2025 Miss Global Universe pageant where she finished as second runner-up. She also placed second in the talent competition and received the Miss World Peace subtitle.
Coming in second to Villariña at the Miss Philippines Earth pageant’s evening gown competition was Prima Joy Alamban from Tumauini, Isabela, who received the silver medal.
Rounding up the winners’ circle with her bronze medal was Patricia Anne Nichole Bangug from Agoo, La Union. Another delegate, Bernie Larit from Bago City, was proclaimed Miss Bingo Plus.
The 2026 Miss Philippines Earh pageant will hold its coronation night in Malitbog, Bukidnon, on June 27. Reigning queen Joy Barcoma will relinquish her title to her successor at the end the competition. /ra
