Bunnie Xo Reveals Reason for "Not Mutual" Divorce With Jelly Roll
Jelly Roll is calling out all the rumors about his divorce—especially the wild ones.
The "Need a Favor" singer broke his silence on his breakup with Bunnie Xo after 10 years of marriage, shutting down speculation that their split in May had anything to do with cheating.
"The internet is a liar," he said at his June 18 concert, per video footage shared to his Instagram. "Me and my wife are best friends. We will always be best friends. We just got off the phone earlier today."
"Nobody cheated on nobody," Jelly Roll (real name Jason DeFord) continued from the stage in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. "She just did a whole podcast about it. You can go watch it. Every word of it is the truth. That will be my best friend forever."
Emphasizing that this will be the "only time" he speaks about their breakup, the 41-year-old added to his ex, "Bunnie, I love you, baby. Thank you for those 10 years. They were incredible. Thank you for the next 10 years of friendship and 20 beyond that."
Indeed, his praise only confirmed what Bunnie had said on the June 18 episode of her Dumb Blonde podcast, in which she detailed how the pair ended on good terms. She even revealed that they're planning to continue their fertility journey and have a baby together.
"We have been the most unconventional couple that you guys have ever encountered," the 46-year-old said. "We're going to co-parent."

However, the divorce proceedings didn't start off quite so smooth. Bunnie explained that their relationship had been deteriorating over the last year and a half as they struggled to communicate with one another.
"We just weren't on the same page," she noted. "I stopped chasing him."
It came to a head on Mother's Day, when the couple—who wed in 2016—got in "a little bit of an argument," according to the Stripped Down author.
“I was so fed up and so tired that I just looked at him and I said, ‘Well, then file the f--king divorce papers,'" she recalled. "I ended up leaving. I packed a bag and I left."

“During that, he was so mad and we were so emotional that he ended up doing exactly what I told him to do and filing the divorce papers,” she remembered. “Was I blindsided? And was this divorce mutual? No, it was not mutual. Even though I told him to file the divorce papers, I was speaking out of anger and just frustration.”
Now that she's come to terms with this new chapter of their lives—as best friends—Bunnie said she's getting her sparkle back.
"Your girl is out here living life again," she added. "I'm feeling the best that I've ever felt. My happiness is back. My joy is back."
