A local has shared footage with Lovin Malta showing a seemingly endless queue of tourists waiting to use the Barrakka Lift in Valletta this morning.
The video captures dozens of people lined up outside the popular lift, which connects the Valletta waterfront with the Upper Barrakka area and is frequently used by cruise passengers arriving in the capital.
According to the local who sent in the footage, the queue was so long that they decided to skip the wait entirely.
“Valletta lift this morning, never-ending queue of tourists. Had to walk all the way to Upper Barrakka,” they said.
With cruise season in full swing and thousands of visitors arriving in Valletta on a regular basis, scenes like these have become increasingly familiar for both tourists and locals navigating the capital.
While many visitors patiently waited their turn, some clearly felt that walking up the hill was the faster option.
