
MANILA, Philippines — Several roads in Manila will be closed on June 21, Sunday, for the University of the Philippines Marathon and Pride Run, the Manila Public Information Office (PIO) said on Saturday.

According to the Manila PIO, road closures will be implemented in the following areas beginning at 1 a.m. on Sunday:

Northbound lane of Roxas Boulevard from Katigbak Drive to Pres. Quirino Avenue
Southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard from Katigbak Drive to P. Ocampo Street
Stretch of Katigbak Drive, South Drive, and Independence Road
Westbound lane of P. Burgos Avenue from Victoria Street to Finance Road
Westbound lane of T.M Kalaw Avenue from M.H. Del Pilar Street to Roxas Boulevard
Westbound lane of Pres. Quirino Avenue from M.H. Del Pilar Street to Roxas Boulevard
It advised motorists to plan their travels ahead of time and take alternate routes:
All trucks and trailer trucks coming from Delpan Area intending to use southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard shall turn left on P. Burgos Avenue, straight to Finance Road to point of destination
Vehicles coming from P. Burgos Avenue intending to use southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard shall turn right on Bonifacio Drive to point of destination
Vehicles coming from the three bridges (Jones, MacArthur, and Quezon) intending to use southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard shall go straight to Taft Avenue to point of destination
Vehicles coming from westbound lane of T.M. Kalaw Avenue intending to use southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard shall turn left on M.H. Del Pilar Street to point of destination
Vehicles coming from U.N. Avenue intending to use Roxas Boulevard shall turn left on Roxas Boulevard service road to point of destination
Vehicles coming from westbound lane of Pres. Quirino Avenue intending to use southbound lane of Roxas Boulevard shall turn left on Adriatico Street to point of destination
All trailer trucks or heavy vehicles coming from Pasay area using Roxas Boulevard (northbound) shall turn right on Pres. Quirino Avenue to point of destination, while light vehicles may use Roxas Boulevard service road (northbound)
All trailer trucks or heavy vehicles coming from Mel Lopez Boulevard (R-10) going to Roxas Boulevard shall turn left on Capulong Street straight to Yuseco Street to Lacson Avenue to point of destination (old truck route)
The Manila PIO added that the zipper lane is available for use for vehicles intending to proceed to different hotels within Quirino Grandstand (Manila Hotel, Rizal Park Hotel, and Hotel H20). /mr
