Ask Kapuso actor and newly-minted father Mikael Daez what he finds to be the most satisfying thing about fatherhood, and he would say that it’s the time well-spent with Leon, his son with wife Megan Young.
Leon just turned one-year-old last May, and like other toddlers, he needs constant love and care from his parents, especially his father who take special care to spend time with him despite his busy day at work.

“Fatherhood has been such an amazing journey. Instead of saying how it’s changed me, it’s made me feel so much fulfillment during the time that l’ve been taking care of Leon. And for me, sobrang overwhelming ng emotion na yun,” Daez told INQUIRER Entertainment at a recent brand event.

What’s even more rewarding for Daez is when he sees the happiness in his son’s eyes for even the smallest thing.
“The cutest thing about Leon is that medyo nakuha niya yung vibes namin ni Megan. He’s very chill, happy-go-lucky lang. So as soon as he wakes up, almost every single time, the first thing he does is he’ll smile at you,” he said.
Daez and Young were recently invited as ambassadors of a snack brand which is collaborating with the K-Pop supergroup BTS.
Young is known to be a big supporter of BTS, which made a big comeback in March after a few years’ hiatus due to the members successive mandatory military training in South Korea, while Daez considers himself the ultimate “BTS Army husband.”

He is referring to BTS member Kim Seokjin, or Jin, for short, who is Young’s “bias” among the seven members, the others being RM, Suga, J-Hope, V, Jungkook and Jimin.
While Young said that they are not the type to dedicate special songs for each other, Daez took the moment to dedicate the “Arirang” album to his wife. “Kase the first five or six songs, pang-gym, and she’s in her gym era. So that’s my dedication to her.” He said the album is also becoming his favorite music accompaniment during his gym days, thanks to his wife’s influence.
