
QUEZON CITY, Philippines—Jayvee Lyn Lorejo was crowned as the new Miss Global Philippines titleholder, replacing Valerie Pawid West, in ceremonies held at Seda Vertis North in Quezon City on Saturday afternoon, June 20.
Reigning Miss Global Nguyen Dinh Nhu Var from Vietnam and TPN Global CEO Piyaporn Sankosik from Thailand flew in to Manila for her coronation.
Lorejo was crowned Miss Tourism International Philippines after representing Davao Region at the 2026 Miss World Philippines pageant in February, and was supposed to compete at the Miss Tourism International contest in China later this year.

The Miss Tourism International Philippines title was transferred to pageant veteran Michelle Arceo, who received the crown at the ALV Pageant Circle Coronation Gala held just hours ago.

The Miss Global Philippines title became available after West stepped down from the throne. She won the title after representing Ifugao at the 2026 Miss World Philippines pageant.
ALV Pageant Circle announced her resignation through a statement posted on social media on Thursday, June 18. West issued her own statement on Friday, June 19.
“It is with a very heavy heart, I am formally resigning from my position as Miss Global Philippines 2026. From the start of my reign, I was truly honored to be entrusted with such a title and took my responsibilities seriously,” West said.
ALV Pageant Circle, in its statement, said it is respecting West’s decision to resign, “following an internal review of compliance matters relating to contractual and organizational obligations.”

West, a biomedical engineer in the United States, said she is planning to resume her career in the medical field, and asked the public’s understanding, and for the people to respect her privacy.
Lorejo is now set to fly to Thailand for the 2026 Miss Global pageant, and try to score the Philippines’ second victory four years after Shane Tormes posted the country’s first win in 2022. /apl
