Court date set for man accused of Panmure stabbing

A man is due in court on Monday following a serious assault in East Auckland.

Emergency services were called to Caen Road in Panmure at around 6.30pm Saturday, where a man was found with critical injuries.

He remains in hospital in a serious condition.

Police said the two men were known to each other, and locals could expect to see an increased presence in the area as officers investigated.

A 28-year-old man will appear in Auckland City District Court, charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
