“I’m very thankful for the opportunity, especially because I really felt the warm welcome from the school officials and the team itself,” Ricafort told the Inquirer in Filipino.
“I’m excited to work with them and contribute in any way that I can to help the team.”
Ricafort is also returning to the UAAP after handling the University of the Philippines men’s volleyball in Seasons 82 and 84. He also served as deputy for Jerry Yee in UP women’s and Adamson.

He led Petro Gazz to a 2022 Reinforced Conference title, then won back-to-back titles for PLDT in the PVL on Tour and Invitational last year.
Ricafort is determined to support Refugia and help FEU return to the Final Four. The Lady Tamaraws placed fifth in Season 88 after losing to University of Santo Tomas in a playoff for No. 4 two months ago.
“Coach Nols has a great vision and direction for the team, and I’m here to support that vision and share whatever knowledge and help I can give to the team,” said Ricafort, who has Refugia as his assistant coach at PLDT.

“Since Coach Nols and I were together in PLDT for several years, having that alignment and familiarity is a big advantage,” he added.
Refugia, who replaced Tina Salak, already handled FEU as interim in UAAP Season 86 and steered the squad to the Final Four with a 9-5 record.
