The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Rabi’u Shuaibu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) winner of the Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency by-election in Kano state.
Declaring the results held on Saturday, the Returning Officer, Prof. Umar Sani, said Shuaibu polled 35,356 votes to defeat Lawal Garba-Haruna of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), who scored 268 votes, and LP’s Abubakar Yahaya-Muhammad, with 98 votes.
“The election was contested. That Rabiu Shuaibu of APC, having certified the requirements of the law, is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected,” he said.
Daily Trust had reported how the election was conducted peacefully but with low voter turnout.
